The political landscape in Shrirampur is witnessing escalating tensions as Shrirampur MP Kalyan Banerjee launched a scathing attack on Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Home Minister Amit Shah, and Vice President Jagdeep Dhankhar during a protest meeting organized by Shrirampur City Trinamool Congress in Badtalla, Shrirampur. Banerjee held Modi and Shah responsible for the construction of the new Parliament building and connected them to the recent attack on Parliament on December 13th. He asserted that the leaders must take accountability for the incident.
Addressing the issue of his recent mimicry that drew criticism, Banerjee stated that he and other opposition leaders sought answers regarding the attack on Parliament. However, instead of receiving answers, 141 MPs were suspended. Banerjee defended his mimicry and highlighted that it was the first time in the history of the Indian Parliament that Narendra Modi himself had done mimicry. He vowed to showcase Modi's mimicry on LEDs across the entire Shrirampur Lok Sabha constituency. Banerjee also took aim at Vice President Jagdeep Dhankhar, questioning his response to the mimicry and urging him to focus on farmers' issues.
